It looks like 2011 was a year of conclusions.
With that I mean that a lot of things were solved, settled and concluded.
What a year of activities.
Running was a major part of the year although the last couple of months it was not as much as it should be.
So 3 races, 2 of them Half Marathons and the training in between plus the SRC running evenings, definitely a more confident physical year than ever before. For 2012 ambitious plans on running the Reading Half Marathon again, the Maidenhead Half Marathon again and in November the Athens Marathon, so more training to take it to another level.
Scouting was also a big part of 2011. Quite a lot of training for the Wood Badge plus acting the role of the ACSL, that's for the Cubs section of the 47th Group of Reading.
Christmas was quite a busy period for us at the 47th. We had carol singing and a party and a nativity play with all the group being involved. The 47th has the divine mixture of significant problems but with people who are capable of solving them; it will take some hard work, good cooperation and a bit of luck to see them through. I will note quite a few events, thoughts and ideas for Scouting in this blog (that was a mental note!).
Sorting out the house.
After 3 or so years most of the "small" jobs were finally done!
boy that was a job and a half. Source the material on a budget, deal with the disaster zone that the patio was, prioritise what first second next - which is the most difficult think when you don't know what to expect - and learn how to do the actual brick laying not only with bricks but also with decorative concrete screen blocks. I think I still have loads of bags of concrete and brick layers muck to put to good use.
Lofts don't have floors, they have beams. On those beams you can put loft boards, which are small enough interlocking sections of board, usually chipboard, that fit through the loft hatch and IF LUCKY sit on the beams without gaps and weak footings... Now the loft is done we have the amazing opportunity to store 50% more junk in it. IF we are lucky we might even have a play room up there, not for the kids but for me!
Did I do the pantry this year too? What's left to do, I guess the entrance shoe cupboard and floor is next! and some storage shelves and stuff for the loft. Heck leave that for 2012!
Plans for 2012 and I will avoid talking about family & work; they come first but let's keep it light a fluffy!
So lets stick it in a numbered bullet list:

- Fixing the patio wall!

- Finish off patio door frame!

So lets stick it in a numbered bullet list:
- Train for the Athens Classic Marathon via half marathons
- Get the Wood Badge if possible.
- Get the house more sorted than not!
- Make an interesting app for the android market. (HA! vague and last minute rant!)
- Sort out my digital library of music and pictures. (Ref to the 2011 Digital Disaster)
- Or something other IT oriented, failing bullet 5!
So there it is, the last entry of 2011, who knows what the first entry of 2012 will be for...
